NGINX Plus currently supports the following load-balancing methods:
- Round Robin and weighted Round Robin
- Least Connections and weighted Least Connections
- Least Time and weighted Least Time
- IP Hash (based on client IP address) and weighted IP Hash
- Hash (on specified request characteristics)
- Consistent (ketama) Hash
- Random with Two Choices
Session persistence methods can identify user sessions and pin their traffic to the appropriate upstream, overriding the load-balancing decision:
- Cookie-insert
- Cookie and variable-based routing (for example,
jvmroute
